Hail, friends of Raven's Landing!
As we forge the foundations of our community – a real-world space rooted in Norse tradition, self-sufficiency, and the principle of "people over profit" – we know that the strongest structures, like the finest blades, are shaped not just by lone hands, but by many minds and perspectives working together. Raven's Landing is an ambitious undertaking, and its success hinges on shared wisdom, open dialogue, and collective effort.
We believe deeply in transparency and the power of community input. That's why we've created The Community Forge – this space dedicated to hammering out ideas, identifying challenges, and shaping the future of Raven's Landing together. We invite you to contribute your thoughts in two vital ways:
1. Share Your Creative Sparks & Ideas:
What potential do you see? What excites you about this vision? We welcome your innovative thoughts on all aspects of Raven's Landing, including (but not limited to):
- Sustainable techniques for our crop cultivation or animal husbandry.
- Creative approaches to communal living and our shared work (10hr/week) model.
- Ideas for authentically integrating historical Norse skills, crafts, or values into daily life.
- Ways to effectively create abundance and support local 'mom & pop' economies.
- Unique solutions for building resilient, affordable housing.
- Any other spark of inspiration – big or small – related to our vision!
2. Lend Us Your Foresight - Identifying Potential Pitfalls:
Building something new means navigating challenges, both seen and unseen. Like Odin's ravens, Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory/Mind), looking ahead and learning from potential obstacles are crucial. We value constructive foresight – helping us anticipate hurdles before they arise. We invite honest reflection on:
- Potential practical hurdles in implementing our work-trade system fairly and effectively.
- Challenges in balancing historical inspiration with modern needs or regulations (especially regarding farming, building, plant medicine, etc., within Colorado law).
- Possible sources of conflict or strain within a close-knit, self-sufficient community structure, and ideas for fostering harmony.
- External factors (economic shifts, climate impacts, regulatory changes) we should prepare for.
- Lessons learned from similar community projects – what pitfalls have others faced that we can learn from or avoid?
How to Contribute:
Please share your ideas, insights, and constructive concerns via email to ravenslandingproject@gmail.com. [Remove the "comments section below" part if comments aren't enabled on this specific page, or keep it if they are]. We encourage respectful dialogue and thoughtful contributions as we build this together.
Building Wisely, Together:
Your input is invaluable. It won't just be read; it will be actively considered as we refine our plans and navigate the path ahead. Raven's Landing is truly a community effort from the ground up. Thank you for lending your voice, your wisdom, and your foresight to this shared saga.
Let's forge this future, together.
